About Us
White Rock Tritons Baseball Association
Mission
To provide players and coaches with the resources needed to develop the baseball skills, knowledge, and character necessary to reach their full potential. With a focus on academic and skill development, WRTBA players will have the foundation to successfully transition themselves to college, senior amateur, or professional levels of play. Success will be measured by the development that takes place both on and off the field.
WRTBA Values
Within a highly competitive program, WRTBA’s actions will be guided by the following values
Citizenship
Players will understand the importance of citizenship both on and off the playing field by developing respectful relationships with teammates, coaches, and the community.
Character
Coaches, players, and parents will collectively model positive character development. Respect for the game will always take precedence over winning at all costs.
Discipline
Players will be provided with the information needed to reach their potential, and the understanding that reaching their goals is dependent on the level of their own effort and commitment.
Integrity
The actions of coaches, players, and parents will reflect an understanding of the organizations values, including a commitment to sportsmanship, trust in each other, and a respect for the game.
Honesty
The importance of honesty will be demonstrated by all WRTBA members in their interaction with teammates, coaches, opponents, and our community.
Teamwork
It is understood that the commitment to team, each other, and the pursuit of collective goals will always take priority over individual interests.
History
White Rock Tritons Baseball was established in 1992 at the request of the White Rock South Surrey Baseball Association (WRSSBA) to provide a competitive opportunity for high school aged players upon graduation to pursue their baseball careers. The Tritons are a member of the BC Premier Baseball League (BCPBL), the highest level of amateur baseball in British Columbia Canada. Three team are fielded annually: Premier 18U; Junior 16U; and Bantam 14U. Players are drawn from surrounding areas including White Rock, South Surrey, Cloverdale, Tsawwassen and even Washington State.
The program is designed to prepare our players for getting to the next level, namely playing college baseball while pursuing a post secondary education. Since inception, the Tritons program have produced eighteen players drafted by Major League clubs and well over 100 players have continued their playing careers and studies in post secondary institutions. Each one of our teams undertake an ambitious seventy game schedule and play out of our beautiful home ball fields at South Surrey Athletic Park. Please join us and wander by the park most evenings from April to August to enjoy a great game of baseball.
